We are a group of proud and passionate designers, engineers and manufacturers who are also outdoor enthusiasts. Our company began in the late 1990’s with the goal to produce a unique watercraft that is as much fun as functional. When we started, we took an alternate route from traditional thinking and became the first internet based, factory direct boat manufacturer. This vertical integration means we perform every function in the manufacturing and sales process, from design, engineering and production through final assembly to ship right to your doorstep. Our model increases efficiency and gives customers direct access to the right people.

Many times our parts are designed with features for future enhancements not recognized by the end user. Most members of the MOKAI team have been with us for 8 years or more.

THE EVOLUTION
Our latest version, the MOKAI ES-Kape 2.0, remains true to our original thinking but features modular hull components allowing owners the option to keep the hull as a single monocoque or nest it together for easy storage and transport. The unique design of our powered kayak is simple for the average user, without any specialized mechanical skill, to assemble or disassemble the craft quickly with minimal tools!
We've given a lot of thought to insure our manufacturing process did not pose any risk to our employees or the environment. Our hulls are created from rotomolded high density polyethylene. It is a biaxial process of rotating a mold while applying heat. We also manufacture most of our molds in-house. The MOKAI's cast components, also done at US foundries, utilize the investment casting method in 316 stainless steel and 356 aluminum. We are proud to manufacture a product wherein all components can be returned and recycled back to their primary material state.
Polyethylene is 100% recyclable material just like aluminum. We've given a lot of thought to insure our manufacturing process did not pose any risk to our employees or the environment. Our hulls are created from rotomolded high density polyethylene, which is extremely durable, engineered to withstand abrasions and unexpected rock strikes. In the unlikely event a breach to the hull occurs, it can be easily repaired by "welding" the plastic with a soldering iron.
